For this assignment, students will take the first step towards producing a longer piece of writing. By the end of this assignment, students will have demonstrated that they can advance and support a thesis using quotes and annotations chosen from their readings. This assignment can be followed with Part Two.
This assignment is intended to help students begin to think about a longer writing assignment by starting them off with a “bite-sized” task. Students will start by advancing an argument in a short Response (~250 words) and then, by selecting and stitching together 5-7 annotations from their readings, create a Thread that supports their Response.
